The only downside, in my mind, is that the NextPVR android tv app costs $6.99. Further information: Paradigm Studio 20 v5 like new condition. The MythTV PVR plugin for Kodi has always given me grief. Kodi seems relatively ok with the NextPVR plugin as well. NextPVR certainly survived recording 3 HD streams at once with my setup, and playing one of them as well.

It also doesn't have the video performance that the Leanback Myth app has. I can use the MythTV app, which requires a lengthy setup and is kind of unstable. On the Shields, I can use the Leanback launcher (which doesn't have a "Guide") with good performance, except when the hour changes (sometime this stops the stream). It's nearly unusable on the Amazon Fire TV 4k. I don't like the lengthy configuration and the complex upgrades.įrom the client side, I have a mix of Nvidia Shields and Amazon Fire TV 4k.
